Class Descriptions

Breathe, Stretch and Restore

This class is slow and deeply nurturing. Gentle stretching with a focus on linking movement with the breath and guided breath work create a sense of calm and relaxation. Students will explore some basic yoga poses and have the opportunity to rest deeply in a restorative pose before savasana. For beginning or experienced students this class will nourish on all levels of mind, body and spirit. The class is suitable for pre natal students.

Deep Release Therapy Ball Class

Our guided Therapy Ball classes create an opportunity for each student to explore self massage techniques using various sized therapy balls. These therapy balls provide targeted self-massage trigger point therapy by using specially designed high grip rubber massage balls and focused movement routines to help penetrate through layers of skin and muscle to massage deeply into your high tension areas.

Feldenkrais

The practice this morning will be a Feldenkrais movement class. Feldenkrais classes focus on slow, mindful movements within a comfortable range. These seemingly simple exercises bring about quite powerful changes, improving posture and movement because tension or poor movement patterns have been identified and released. Often people feel younger afterward because they're moving in ways they haven't done in years!

iRest Yoga Nidra

iRest Yoga Nidra is a 10-step guided meditation.  Students lie comfortably on the floor as the teacher takes them through this deeply restful class.  IRest Yoga Nidra combines ancient yoga precepts and current research to help reduce stress and chronic pain, improve sleep, and in some cases, heal unresolved issues and traumas.  This class is appropriate for anyone, whether you are a lifelong meditator or if you have never tried meditation before.

Lengthen & Strengthen

A welcoming functional movement class which will encompass a full 360 degree approach to movement, stretch & strength for students of all levels. Students will explore Pilates, yoga, and functional movement, as well as mindful attention of posture.

Our morning practices are an opportunity to settle into your body with mindful awareness, mindful movement and a quiet curiosity. These classes will begin with gentle movement to wake up the body and then incorporate a mix of functional movement, mindful strength, classic Hatha Yoga postures and guided breath mediations. Each class will be unique to the teacher and the students attending. These classes are suitable from beginning to experienced students who enjoy a slower movement practice.

Move, Stretch & Flow

You’ll be moving continuously and waking up every part of your body, helping you feel more softness and mobility in your neck/shoulders, low back, chest, and hips. When you leave the class, you’ll feel stronger, lighter, more balanced and alive – ready to meet the challenges of your day!

Roll & Restore

Roll & Restore is designed to balance the nervous system, calm the mind, and release tight spaces in your body. This soothing class will use the tools of self-massage, targeted pressure point release using therapy balls and restorative yoga to restore both body and mind. This class is open to new and experienced students. We will be using yoga tune-up balls, yoga blocks, yoga bolsters and/or dense pillows, blankets and rolled yoga mats. This is a prop heavy class so please inquire prior to class with your prop questions.

Therapeutic Yoga for Improved Mobility

This specialty class will spend time diving into one focus area (shoulders, core/back and hips/knees) over a 4-week span so you can feel a difference in your body and improve your mobility. You will move with more freedom and ease.

Each class will offer gentle movement, teacher guidance and support with props so you can feel safe and confident when you move. The class will start with breath work and include both movement and restorative (resting) poses.

Yin Yoga

This class series will serve as an introduction to yin yoga or support students who have already enjoyed and benefited from practicing yin yoga.

Yin yoga is a slow-paced meditative form of yoga. Poses are held for longer periods of time targeting the deep connective tissues in the body: the fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. Poses will be seated or reclined and are held for 2 to 5 minutes.

Breath awareness and an internal focus is an important component of yin yoga and will be guided by the teacher, especially at the beginning.

Yoga and Pilates Blend

This class offers the best of two different approaches – Pilates mat work to develop core strength, to work hard and sweat. This is followed by a Yoga sequence to develop flexibility, balance, and overall wellbeing. The class begins with a complete warmup, then Pilates, Yoga, and ends with a few minutes of relaxation.

Yoga and Mindfulness

This is the perfect class after a busy day. A yoga class with a slower pace paying mindful attention to the whispers and communication of the body through each movement and breath. Time will be spent releasing any holding and tension in the body through simple movement and classic asanas followed by a pranayama practice, a sitting meditation or a restorative shivasana. This class will be appropriate for all levels of students.
