Beginning Yoga

These classes are for students with little or no experience or for those who wish to continue with a basic yoga practice. These classes will include simple movements to stretch and warm-up the body. An introduction to the beginning asanas (postures) as well as simple pranayama (breath control) will be taught. This class is also suitable for pre-natal students. Modifications will be encouraged to adapt to individual body needs.

Gentle Yoga

This safe and slower-moving class is designed for students of all ages dealing with physical challenges, recovering from injuries, or for those who enjoy a slower moving practice. Moving gently, we work to increase flexibility in the shoulders, back, hips and legs, to increase arm and overall body strength, and to develop better balance and breath awareness. At the end of each class, we spend some time quieting the mind to reduce anxiety and stress, so that students leave the class relaxed and refreshed.

Intermediate Yoga

These classes are for students with a familiarity of the basic yoga poses and for those who are looking to expand their knowledge of asanas and pranayama.

Yoga and Pilates Blend

This class offers the best of two different approaches – Pilates mat work to develop core strength, to work hard and sweat. This is followed by a Yoga sequence to develop flexibility, balance, and overall wellbeing. The class begins with a complete warmup, then Pilates, Yoga, and ends with a few minutes of relaxation.

Yoga and Mindfulness

This is the perfect class after a busy day. A yoga class with a slower pace paying mindful attention to the whispers and communication of the body through each movement and breath. Time will be spent releasing any holding and tension in the body through simple movement and classic asanas followed by a pranayama practice, a sitting meditation or a restorative shivasana. This class will be appropriate for all levels of students.

Restorative Yoga

This restorative yoga class will focus on relaxing the body in postures supported by the use of props and blankets to allow the body opportunity to rest, renew and to heal. Long periods of time is given in each pose so to allow each student to move deep into their own personal inner space. A perfect class for everybody, especially those dealing with chronic stress, fatigue or recovering from illness, injury or significant life changes. Deep Release Therapy Ball Class

Our guided Therapy Ball classes create an opportunity for each student to explore self massage techniques using various sized therapy balls. These therapy balls provide targeted self-massage trigger point therapy by using specially designed high grip rubber massage balls and focused movement routines to help penetrate through layers of skin and muscle to massage deeply into your high tension areas.

iRest Yoga Nidra

iRest Yoga Nidra is a 10-step guided meditation.  Students lie comfortably on the floor as the teacher takes them through this deeply restful class.  IRest Yoga Nidra combines ancient yoga precepts and current research to help reduce stress and chronic pain, improve sleep, and in some cases, heal unresolved issues and traumas.  This class is appropriate for anyone, whether you are a lifelong meditator or if you have never tried meditation before.

Reiki ~ Restorative Yoga

In this 2 hour class students can enjoy the time to drop deeper into a longer restorative yoga practice accompanied by healing Reiki energy and the subtle use of aromatherapy. Reiki is a gentle non-invasive hands on healing modality which accepts the idea of a "Universal Life Force Energy" that is around and within all living things. As students rest fully supported in their yoga poses Reiki energy will be incorporated enhancing the deep relaxation and benefits of the restorative yoga practice. Reiki gently balances the energy channels in the body releasing accumulated tension and stress and promoting a state of harmony. Combining these two practices allows for a supported and deeply nourishing gift of self care and healing for all levels of Self.

Therabands and Therapy Balls

This class is for the student who enjoys adding creativity to their strengthening practice and self massage to their unwinding practices. We use resistance bands to build gentle strength and length and then following with therapy balls to soften and deepen into that tight tissue. This hour class is an opportunity to dive into the body and to have fun with these powerful props.
