Beginning YogaThese classes are for students with little or no experience or for those who wish to continue with a basic yoga practice. These classes will include simple movements to stretch and warm-up the body. An introduction to the beginning asanas (postures) as well as simple pranayama (breath control) will be taught. This class is also suitable for pre-natal students. Modifications will be encouraged to adapt to individual body needs.
Gentle YogaThis safe and slower-moving class is designed for students of all ages dealing with physical challenges, recovering from injuries, or for those who enjoy a slower moving practice. Moving gently, we work to increase flexibility in the shoulders, back, hips and legs, to increase arm and overall body strength, and to develop better balance and breath awareness. At the end of each class, we spend some time quieting the mind to reduce anxiety and stress, so that students leave the class relaxed and refreshed.
Yoga and Pilates Blend
This class offers the best of two different approaches – Pilates mat work to develop core strength, to work hard and sweat. This is followed by a Yoga sequence to develop flexibility, balance, and overall wellbeing. The class begins with a complete warmup, then Pilates, Yoga, and ends with a few minutes of relaxation.
