A morning routine is a set of actions that you curate usually before starting your day's main activity. The actions can be anything from drinking a coffee, brushing your teeth, reading your emails, or sitting for morning meditation.
It is really not important what you choose to add to a morning routine, however, it is important to choose activities that fill you up and sets your day in a positive direction, which will lead you to enjoy more wins and to feel more motivated.
Your morning habits are the secret to it all. I chuckle to myself as I write this because I often teach in my yoga classes, that we are trying to be more clever in our practice than our habits. This helps us to stay mindful and alert while we are on our mat. But in this instance, I understand how a morning routine or habit, will lead to greater success in a day.
So consider how you start each day. Do your routines or habits set you up the way you need to feel motivated and successful throughout your day?
If you need to make a change, try sitting down and write a list of simple activities and make you feel good. Add one of those items to your morning routine for a set period of time (contrary to common beliefs, it takes longer than 21 days to create a lasting habit). Give it time and remind yourself that you are worth the effort. Have a super day and an awesome week!
