Robyn Bowman ~
Creating Space Yoga Studio

Over the years, Robyn observed a common challenge among her students - a dependency on local yoga studios to determine when and how often they can practice. This reliance on changing class times, yoga studios opening and suddenly closing, weather and travel could hinder their daily practice. To address this issue and to continue to connect with her students, Creating Space Yoga has now shifted to supporting student home practices. Robyn hopes to guide each student in building a thriving yoga and meditation practice at home. While attending local yoga studios can be a fulfilling practice and a source of inspiration, it shouldn't be the only way a student can practice with confidence. Creating Space Yoga Studio has always been about creating a space where students can explore and deepen their yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment. Robyn's vision for her studio community is to create a space for students to connect with their bodies, breath, and minds, and to cultivate a sense of community and belonging. The studio has always been more than just a place to practice yoga - it's a space where students can come together to share their experiences, learn from one another, and support each other on their yoga journeys.

Now, with the shift to online classes and creating home practice guides and resources, Creating Space Yoga can support more students by offering them the tools to develop a consistent and sustainable home practice. Whether students are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, they can access a wide range of classes and resources that suit their needs and preferences. With this new approach, Creating Space Yoga is empowering students to take ownership of their yoga practice and cultivate a deeper sense of connection and self-awareness.

Robyn began her exploration of yoga in 1993, long before the current yoga trends had taken off. She continues to explore a deep yoga and meditation practice, embraces continued learning, and has been sharing her knowledge with her students for over two decades. Learning and sharing is a dance that builds a strong student and teacher.

In 2007, Robyn opened Creating Space Yoga Studio in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. It quickly became a thriving community studio for students who appreciated a mindful approach to movement and meditation. The studio fostered a strong sense of community through various events such as the CSY Music Series, the Mindfulness Lecture Series, book clubs, walking groups, charitable events, monthly workshops, offering different movement modalities and more.

After serving her local community for 15 years, Robyn decided to move away from her hometown and seek a simpler life in the country. This personal change catalyzed Creating Space Yoga to expand its reach and serve a wider community.

"A successful home practice becomes a rhythmn that you create for yourself. Your practice can look and feel different from day to day. Ask yourself, what would be nourishing for my body, my mind and my spirit today? One day your body may speak more clearly than your spirit. Another day your spirit may reach out. Practice listening!

If you need support, I am here to help and guide you. "
