New To Yoga

  • I teach mindful movement that includes basic yoga asana (poses), functional movement, gentle strength and soothing movements to calm the nervous system. Our classes begin with gentle movement on the ground, then slowly transition to hands and knees and then standing. We will explore simple sequences with lots of room for modifications for any level of student.

  • You just begin. Your practice will meet you exactly where you are.

    I would suggest you begin with a yoga class that suits your schedule and give it a try. If you would rather work privately to help you find confidence before attending a class, I would be happy to guide you. Send me an email if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Absolutely! Flexibility is not a requirement to practice yoga. Some days you will move smoother than others. Getting into a pose is not the focus. Learning how to unwind the body and to move mindfully is how we approach our practice.

  • Yes! Your age is not a barrier to a fulfilling yoga practice. For all ages, we practice nourishing movement. However, it is important in our group classes that you are able to get down on the ground and up again. Feel free to practice with a chair nearby support if that is helpful.

  • You should wear clothing that is comfortable for you to move in. Dress in layers so that you can adjust according to your changing temperature. For most of the class we practice in bare feet.

  • We use a lot of props during our practice in many ways. A lot of the props can be simple objects that you have at home. On the minimum, I would suggest a yoga mat, a few blankets or towels, possibly yoga blocks or other items for support. We usually discuss the props needed at the beginning of each class.

  • If you are concerned, please reach out to your doctor or healthcare provider. The yoga that we teach is gentle and we encourage each student to modify their practice so that it feels nourishing to them. At any point in the practice, you are free to take a break, linger longer, change directions and so on. It’s your practice so please move in a way that feels right for you! Registration

  • You can register either by opening the studio email inviting you to create your Momoyoga account or by clicking this link and filling out the form.

  • No, our classes and memberships are not refundable or transferrable. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Our Thursday morning meditation is a free community class and you are welcome to attend. Join the mailing list and be sure to select the Thursday Morning Meditation option. You will receive an email every Thursday morning with the Zoom link to attend.

  • When you register for a class or membership, you will be required to sign a waiver. This will automatically add you to the basic studio mailing list. If you wish to receive specific email topics, you can set your preferences here. When you no longer wish to receive the studio mailings, at the bottom of each email there is an unsubscribe link. Click this link when you are ready to unsubscribe. You can join us again any time!

Memberships

  • The Supported Home Practice Membership includes unlimited Zoom classes as well as full access to our On-Demand Video Library. This membership is the best value and will give you full flexibility.

  • Yes. Once you have fully registered for your selected membership, the monthly payments will be automatic on the payment method that you selected. You will still need to reserve the weekly Zoom classes that you wish to attend to receive the Zoom link before each class. You will be able to access the On-Demand Videos at any time.

  • You can cancel your monthly membership at any time. Please send me an email and I will cancel the membership on your account. You can rejoin at any time.

  • Yes! Our Thursday morning meditation is a community class and you are welcome to attend. Join the mailing list and be sure to select the Thursday Morning Meditation option. Once on our list, you will receive an email on Thursday at 7 am EST with the Zoom link of the day. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  • Yes! We have created to CSY Community Video Playlist so that anyone can attend a video practice when they need one. The classes in the playlist will change from time to time. If you wish to practice with a wider selection, joining a membership would be the next option.

Zoom Classes

  • We are happy to offer all of our new students a week of FREE Zoom classes. This is your opportunity to attend any class before you make your first purchase. We will look forward to practicing with you! (Please note…if you have already used this free membership offer, it will no longer be listed on the pricing page.)

  • A Zoom link for your class will be sent to the email address on your account approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled class time. If you are late to reserve a class, find your Zoom link in your Momoyoga profile and check your upcoming classes.

  • Zoom links will be sent 30 minutes before each class. If you did not receive it, please check your profile in Momoyoga and click on “My bookings and orders” and then click “Upcoming Bookings”. You will find your Zoom link here with the upcoming class.

  • Go into your Momoyoga account and click on the class that has been reserved. You will have the option to cancel the class. Please note that class cancellations must be done at least 2 hours before the class start time to receive the class credited back onto your account. Late cancellations will be booked as class attended.

  • Yes! All of our classes are suited to students of all ages, abilities and yoga experience. We will enjoy slow and mindful movement and build our yoga poses and sequences gently. You must be able to get up and down from the ground.

  • Please check the length of time that your class passes are valid before purchasing. This information will be included in each purchase selection.

  • Yes you can, but your Zoom link may not be sent to you in time. Please check your profile in Momoyoga and click on “My bookings and orders” and then click “Upcoming Bookings”.

  • Yes. Some students prefer to practice with their cameras off or blurred. This is your choice. If you wish to have feedback during your practice, it is helpful to set up your camera so that you can be seen by your teacher. Your microphone will be muted once the class begins.
